In my recent bedroom refresh, I wanted to break away from my comfort zone of an all-neutral space. Sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone seems impossible but once you do it, it will leave you wondering why you never did it before. I wanted to infuse this space with layers of depth, warmth, interest and character! With the addition of the deep olive velvet fabric in the bed frame and a rich earth-toned rug, I’ve refreshed the primary bedroom into a space that reflects my personality with a hint of masculinity for the Mr. as well!

When I walk into my bedroom, my attention is immediately drawn to the bed frame. It’s sleek, modern, and covered in plush olive green velvet. The simplicity of its design adds a touch of elegance, while the velvet gives it a cozy vibe. With this bed frame in place, the bedroom feels unique but still, a place where I can relax and unwind in style.

I opted for nightstands with cleaned lines yet soft rounded legs achieving a modern and elevated look. My favorite feature are the leather pulls – it is the subtle yet impactful details like these that add charm to the space. Styling your nightstand with accent pieces and faux greenery is another way to make an impact in your bedroom. Seamlessly blending warmth and softness while contributing to the overall inviting atmosphere of the room.

When choosing how to style nightstand, think of the atmosphere and ambiance you are wanting to create for the space. Adding an aesthetic candle is an easy way to fill the room with warmth and comfort. Using warm and rich tones of brown is a great way to bring a natural feel into a room.

Complementing the deep olive velvet are bold earth tones with my rug choice – which is not only another beautiful layer in the space, but of course grounds the room with its warmth and texture. This patterned area rug complements solid colors beautifully – it adds depth and dimension to the space with ease.

This mirror not only serves as a decorative accent but also in the the overall aesthetic and functionality of the space. With its rounded corners – the mirror introduces an element of softness with all the straight lines in the room. This also reflects a unique charm with its curved design, adding character and visual interest to the room. PRO TIP: Adding a mirror also helped my relatively small primary bedroom. An arched mirror creates the illusion of an expanded space, making the room feel more open and spacious. And of course – the mirror has become my spot for daily fit checks!
